A little bit about me

I have a long history in education whether as a Secondary School Teacher, Paramedic Educator, National Training Manager, Driving Instructor or as a trainer of future driving instructors. I have over 30 years combined experience in teaching adolescents and adults in secondary school and vocational educational systems respectively.

I am an accredited RMS driving instructor with a BHMS. Ed and a Cert IV TAE40116 in Workplace Training and Assessment . I am also have been trained to be a facilitator and coach for the Youth Safer Driver Course. I believe my wealth of educational experience and love and knowledge of driving are the main keys to my students' success.

I personalise lesson plans to meet your driving needs. Students come to me for different reasons, like to prepare for the NSW practical driving test, to learn to drive on freeways approaching the harbour bridge, to park in general, to just get their confidence back behind the wheel, to deal with anxiety behind the wheel, or to just start out from scratch which is the most rewarding part of my job and the most fun! Seeing my students develop their driving skills is where I get the buzz out of my job, and most teachers would say the same.

I have taught a range of students varying from mature age drivers, secondary school age and university students, adults starting out and adults with an O/S licence wanting to gain an Australian licence.

I have a passion for driving, particularly manual cars, and teaching manual keeps me on my toes. I love it! I am very patient and approachable and I often say to students that 'Together we will get to the end and achieve our goal'. I want the student to feel supported in their efforts to achieve their driving goal and do so in a positive, engaging learning environment.

Also a former paramedic for 10 years, I appreciate and know first hand the value of low risk driving. I want to help my students become safe low risk drivers so to give them every chance to never end up in crashes that I have had to attend. My focus is therefore on low risk driving strategies and producing a competent driver with a positive attitude to safe driving.

I have prepared many a student for the NSW learner practical driving test and I am most familiar with the Brookvale, Chatswood and Warriewood testing areas, but I have also prepared students for tests at Hornsby, Macquarie Park and even Auburn.
